Teach Me

Panel 1. Inside the TV production truck, a camera operator points at a wall of monitors. Every angle shows the catcher, batter and field sharply, but the plate umpire is a dark smear behind the catcher. Camera operator: “It’s on every camera.”

Panel 2. After the game, Lucas Knox catches up with Sam in the ballpark parking lot as Sam walks toward his car carrying his wire mask. Knox: “Teach me.”

Panel 3. Sam keeps walking while Knox follows. Sam: “No.” Knox: “Name your price.”

Panel 4. At his car, Sam unlocks the driver-side door and glances back at Knox. Sam: “I’ve been rich three times.”
