Rules Quiz

Panel 1. In the umpires’ room before a game, Jeff quizzes the crew while they dress and prepare their gear. Jeff: “Fair ball bounces over the fence. What’ve you got?”

Panel 2. Tyler answers immediately while Jeff approves. Tyler: “Ground-rule double.” Jeff: “Good.”

Panel 3. Sam laces a black umpire shoe without looking up while Jeff turns toward him. Sam: “Used to be a home run.” Jeff: “Used to be when?”

Panel 4. Sam keeps lacing the same shoe while Jeff keeps looking at him. Sam: “Till 1931. I read a lot.”
