Panel 1. In the umpires’ room after a night game, Jeff packs his gear bag. Jeff: “Fishing at the lake tomorrow. Six a.m. You in?” Sam: “Can’t. Work.”

Panel 2. Jeff looks up at Sam. Jeff: “On a Sunday?” Sam: “Busy season.”

Panel 3. Jeff zips his gear bag. A pause. Jeff: “What do you do again?” Sam: “Taxes.”

Panel 4. The door swings shut behind Sam. Jeff frowns at it. Jeff: “It’s July.”
