Panel 1. Night. One car drives on an empty highway beneath a sign reading I-80 WEST. No dialogue.
Panel 2. Inside the car, Sam drives wide awake. Brad and Tyler sleep in the back seat while Jeff stirs in the passenger seat. Jeff: “Want me to take a turn?” Sam: “I’ve got it.”
Panel 3. Close on the rear-view mirror. It shows the dark back seat with Brad and Tyler asleep, but Sam does not appear in the reflection. Jeff: “How are you never tired?”
Panel 4. Jeff settles back and shuts his eyes while Sam drives on into the dark. Sam: “I had a nap.”
An ordinary guy. Mostly.
Sam calls the game. The rest of his life is harder to explain.
